John 12:24
Truly, I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falls to the earth and dies it remains alone, but if it dies, it produces much fruit.
---- Mine, the terrible loneliness experienced by so many in the world today is because of one thing and one thing alone, their utter selfishness in single mindedly pursuing the things that pander to their own well being. Even those who profess to love are in love with themselves first; they are prepared to sacrifice the other if it gets in the way of their pursuit of happiness for themselves. Look around you ---- Mine, and also look at yourself, if the world is in the state it is in today it is because everyone is navel gazing, their vision is narrow, their horizon goes no further than the satisfaction of their immediate needs and wants. Immature children who desire not to get involved too deeply with their neighbor, let alone the stranger at the gate.
Look at Me ---- Mine, lift your gaze to the Cross and think about the Word given to you this day. Only by dying to yourself, only by giving up, only by giving in, only by making a sacrifice of self on the altar of true love can you hope to bear effective testimony to Me. The paradox of the Good News is this, in order to live you must die, in order to bear fruit that will last you must first be buried. It is in dying to self that one can live eternally.
