WISDOM 16:26-28 (2024)

 WISDOM 16:26-28

so that your children, whom you loved, O Lord, might learn
that it is not the production of crops that feeds humankind
but that your word sustains those who trust in you.
For what was not destroyed by fire
was melted when simply warmed by a fleeting ray of the sun,
to make it known that one must rise before the sun to give you thanks,
and must pray to you at the dawning of the light.

Man lives not by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the Mouth of God. If it were not for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist from the sun's rising to its setting, the world would perish. It is this Holy Sacrifice made once and for all on Calvary and offered in memory of Me for as long as time lasts that keeps the wrath of God from consuming the world and destroying it. I, His Eternal Word, His only Word, who prevent the world from being destroyed by the fire of His righteous anger. In fact, His wrath melts when He looks at You through Me on the Cross as I offer Myself in expiation for your sins and the sins of the world. Never forget, ---- my own, that it is the prayers of the faithful, those who wake up early, those who go to be late at night, those who mortify the flesh and rise up before the sun to offer praise and thanksgiving, worship and adoration, those who contemplate Me and My Word and gladly keep vigil with Me who participate with Me in staying the Hand of God. Pray, hope, and do not worry. In the end, all will be well. Trust Me with all your heart and do not be anxious about anything. I AM God and I will never fail you because you are Mine now and forever.
