1 KINGS 17:13-16
Elijah said to her, ‘Do not be afraid; go and do as you have said; but first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterwards make something for yourself and your son. For thus says the Lord the God of Israel: The jar of meal will not be emptied and the jug of oil will not fail until the day that the Lord sends rain on the earth.’ She went and did as Elijah said, so that she as well as he and her household ate for many days. The jar of meal was not emptied, neither did the jug of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by Elijah.
---- mine,
Listen to what I ask of you and do exactly as I say just as the widow of Zarephath did. Do not be afraid to give, not of your excess, but all you have to live on. Do it with the faith of a little child, certain that your Father in Heaven will not withhold any good thing from you or those you love. It takes courage to have faith even when the night is dark, the storm is at its height and the way is hidden from view. It takes courage to give up the things you have leaned on for so long to give you confidence, the material things, the gifts you have been given, and using them as crutches. This is not the way the Lord, you must lean on Me, rely on Me, have confidence in Me, not on material things or any other abilities you may have. You can lose these in an instant and you will then have nothing to fall back on. Be prepared to gladly give away, to share with a glad heart and an expectant faith, knowing that I always keep my promise as I did to the widow. She shared her last meal with the prophet Elijah, and as promised, the jar of meal was not emptied, and neither did the jug of oil fail according to the Word of God. I AM the Bread of Life and I assure you your bread will not fail for as long as you have Me as your supernatural food. The Oil of the Holy Spirit will not run out but will gladden your heart and sustain you with every grace and blessing you need as you make your pilgrim journey from this life to the next. Have faith! Have courage! Be not afraid!
