Then Pilate took Jesus
and had him flogged. 2And the soldiers wove a crown of thorns and
put it on his head, and they dressed him in a purple robe. 3They
kept coming up to him, saying, ‘Hail, King of the Jews!’ and striking him on
the face. John 19:1-3
---- My Own, the abominable sins of the flesh, the vileness
of evil thoughts, provocative clothing designed to bring out the worst in men
and women, and addiction to power makes people insensible to the pain of their
fellow human beings. Intoxicated with power they delight in crushing the weak
under their heel robbing them of every shred of dignity. All these and more are
the reasons why I endured the flogging, the thorns on my head, the mockery in
the purple robe and the blows and vile
language accompany them. I took your sins upon Myself so you could be free from
the shackles of sin and the burden of guilt.
