SIRACH 15:14-17
It was he who created humankind in the beginning,
and he left them in the power of their own free choice.
If you choose, you can keep the commandments,
and to act faithfully is a matter of your own choice.
He has placed before you fire and water;
stretch out your hand for whichever you choose.
Before each person are life and death,
and whichever one chooses will be given.

Remember always that along with the gift of life, I have also given you the freedom to choose - both are precious gifts. The gift of life is eternal and the choices you make using the precious gift of your free will determine where you choose to spend eternity. So choose wisely always. Be faithful to all My commandments for they are the means by which you know what is good, right, true, beautiful, and pleasing to Me. The devil and his minions prowl the world seeking those whom they can steal from Me and devour, and kill. Remain on your guard always, pray constantly, be armed with the power of My Word, and remain in the bosom of Holy Mother Church where you receive life-giving Sacraments that fill your soul with grace and divine power. Remember that the Father chose you to have life in Him - you are by the Blood of the Lamb and sanctified through Baptism by My Spirit. What you make of the gifts given to you is up to you but remember that there is a Day of Reckoning and it is approaching swiftly. Today life and death are set before you and there is a constant battle between your flesh, the world, and the devil to steal your soul which belongs to God and has His imprint on it. Choose life while you still can.
