SIRACH 4:16-18
If they remain faithful, they will inherit her;
their descendants will also obtain her.
For at first she will walk with them on tortuous paths;
she will bring fear and dread upon them,
and will torment them by her discipline
until she trusts them,
and she will test them with her ordinances.
Then she will come straight back to them again and gladden them,
and will reveal her secrets to them.
Pray and ask for the gift of holy fear for it is the first step to receiving Wisdom. Without this holy fear, it is impossible to please God. Wisdom teaches you to discern and embrace the Father's will for your life even though you may not fully understand it. Once you have placed your feet on the road that leads to eternal life the cross will be heavy, your will struggle, your faith will be tested and you will experience many trials that will cause you sorrow, heartache, and heartbreak. These are necessary in order to increase and strengthen your faith. A healthy fear of the Lord will keep you humble. You will see yourself as you are and you quickly learn not to lean on your own understanding but on Me and My Holy Spirit. Once you have planted your feet firmly on the road that leads to Life, you will abide in My Love, My joy and peace will be yours and Wisdom will make her home in you and she will be your delight.
