GOD'S WORD TODAY

MARK 8:34

If you want to follow me, deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me. For if you choose to save your life, you will lose it; and if you lose your life for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel, you will save it.

---- Mine, today the Church celebrates all those who are now with Me in glory. They are with Me because they practiced all that I commanded. They were prepared to imitate Me all the way even to the laying down of their lives in order to establish the Kingdom of God on earth. They had faith that moved mountains of disbelief, they believed in the power of the Gospel, and they lived it. They were people like you, they had the same opportunities as you, they asked for and received grace and power and they relied on Me and My Spirit. They were fully aware that they could do nothing of themselves but with God they could do all things, endure all things, for their hope and faith in Me was boundless. 

You too ---- Mine, receive grace upon grace each day. It is granted to you freely and in abundance each time you receive Me in the Holy Eucharist. Each time you pray and ask you receive. You too are invited to join the company of the glorious saints in heaven and to have a share in My inheritance. Follow Me. Pick up your cross every day and come after Me and lay up for your self treasures in heaven where thieves cannot break in and steal nor rust or moths destroy.
